Wicked Buffalo | Shea’s Performing Arts Centre
“Wicked”, the brilliantly conceptualized musical based on the book written by Winnie Holzman which
was adapted from the 1995 Gregory Maguire best-selling novel “Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West” which re-chronicles the events in the L. Frank Baum classic “The Wizard of Oz” from the Wicked Witch’s perspective is prepping for a 25-city National run beginning on July 28 in Columbus, OH and ending on August 21, 2011 in DC.
As part of their year-long national trek, the entire touring cast and crew of “the defining musical of the decade” (New York Times) will be running a month-long show in Buffalo at the Shea’s Performing Arts Centre from April 27, 2011 till May 22, 2011.
The touring production features music written and composed by Grammy Award and Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz, direction from Tony Award winner Joe Mantello and the talents of Jackie Burns as “Elphaba”, the emerald-skinned Wicked Witch of the West, Chandra Lee Schwartz as “Glinda”, the Good Witch.
