Shrek Buffalo | Shea’s Performing Arts Centre
The world’s most loveable, funniest and sarcastic ogre will hit the big stage this time in Buffalo after swamping the movie screens with four installments and hitting it big time in Broadway with fairy tale parodies from “Far Far Away” and everything green and slimy.
Take a trip with Shrek and Donkey as they embark on a whimsical journey from Shrek’s swamp to Duloc then to the dragon-guarded tower to free the enchanted Princess Fiona and eventually, saving her as well from marrying the minutely evil Lord Farquaad while singing to all new songs composed by Tony Award nominee Jeanine Tesori in a musical that will flip our heads out with laughter and warmth, thanks to lyricist and Pulitzer-winning author David Lindsay-Abaire.
With a national tour currently underway with runs in Chicago, the entire cast and crew of “Shrek” will let their freak flag fly from coast to coast and even across the pond as they hit London’s West End in summer 2011. But before unleashing their freakishness over the Atlantic, they are eastward bound for a week just in time for spring as the musical will run in Buffalo’s Shea’s Performing Arts Center from February 22 to 27, 2011.
Tickets will go onsale through Ticketmaster though no onsale date has currently been set. For advanced tickets, premium seating and sold out shows, review the ticket options featured below.
